Grooming Services for Dogs

Basic maintenance and care of your pet’s physical appearance and hygiene.

Contrary to the beliefs that grooming is only for aesthetic reasons, regular grooming can actually enhance your pet's health and well-being. It can help keep their skin, coat, and nails healthy, and prevent/identify health issues early on. If you are unsure how to groom your pet or would like to book an appointment, contact us at 204-728-0033.

What happens when my pet isn't groomed frequently?

Frequent visits to the groomer are an essential step in veterinary care to keep your pet happy and healthy. When they don't get groomed enough, their fur begins to clump together and turn into mats which can cause discomfort. Mats under the armpits can cause pain when walking and jumping, whereas matted fur close to the skin can make them more susceptible to rashes and other skin conditions due to moisture build up. The skin underneath can also become fragile and thin, leading it to tear easily. When toenails aren't clipped frequently, their gait can change which can cause joint problems and pain.

How often should my pet be groomed?

The frequency of pet grooming depends on several factors, including the breed, coat type, and lifestyle. The general guideline for frequency is as follows:

  • Dogs: Every 6-8 weeks, beginning at 3 months of age.
  • Cats: Every 3 months.

Does my pet need to be vaccinated in order to book an appointment?

Yes. All pets are required to have valid up-to-date vaccinations for the core vaccines Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvo, Bordetella, and Rabies. This is done to protect the health and safety of all pets in the facility, as well as the team members who work there.
